What are some pros and cons of the electoral college and some reform ideas? 10 points!?

Electoral college is obsolete. It's the last safety on the government has on our right to say who gets in. We saw what happened in 2000. Gore got the general vote, but didn't win. The people lost their voice. This changed American history forever. We pay the taxes and our voices should count.
