Why would my hamster blead to death?

i had a hamster over 7 mouths when she bled to death. i woke up on friday afternoon n i looked in her cage. i saw her liar there all hard as stone. i shake her cage to see if she was ok but she didn't move. so i picked her up that when i saw bload on her backside. i just what to know why and how this could happen
